England 2008

Just got back from a 9 day business trip to England. Stayed at a wonderful old hotel on the North Sea. Highly recommend it. The Grand Hotel http://www.grandhotel-uk.com/

Went to church on Sunday. Note: no styrofoam cups, real English China at the coffee after church.

Ate some Shepherd Pie and Chips.

Tuesday night is Dutch Apple pancake night

Awesome. Tart Granny Smith, a special batter that gives almost a solid custard feel to the mouth.

Went to KC to see Jake and eat some BBQ

Arthur Bryant's is the best BBQ place in the nation. We went to the original location in KC. Yes, that is John and Sarah in the picture at Bryant's. They were there on Sept 7, 2008.

Saturday night we went to the American Royal for the big BBQ contest. Hundreds of competitors.

Finally, Mary wanted to go to Lamar's Donuts, but it was closed on Saturday pm, so we went back on Sunday morning before returning to Cincy. (I cannot live with a depressed woman.)

Two Farmer's Markets

The week 1 winner, Kelli, is from Columbus, Ohio. Her store is right around the corner from Danny's place. We went up to see his show last night, but stopped first at the Black Market. Mary actually tried on a dress.

Reds vs. Nationals, July 6, 2008

Many good pictures from this game. Lots of old Reds players on the Nationals. Rijo is a coach now. Austin Kerns and ?Dimitri Young playing catch with Aaron Boone. In the following posts. The guy with the big swing is Adam Dunn hitting a 3 run home run to tie the game at 3 to 3.

Notice the special Reds' camo jerseys. They gave them out to the first 14,000 kids.

The little girl was just too cute to pass up a quick shot. And the Dusty Baker picture is for Grandma.
